The team at Timbertown
These young people work at Timbertown with Bullocky Craig doing various jobs about the bullock & horse yards. Ray, Luke & Danial help with the bullocks as offsiders, the also do whip cracking, shingle cutting, cross-cut sawing & many other odd jobs that have been lost over time. Ellen helps out with the horses & the jobs about the stable.
All young workers are very good at their relevant jobs & clearly are happy doing these special tasks that help Craig, the Management & the Timbertown complex to function. Their enthusiasm to learn past lost skills is commendable & they are a great asset to Timbertown & above all a credit to themselves. Danial travels from Grafton most weekends to work as a volunteer with Craig, the others also go out of their way to be part of the Timbertown scene.

5 August 2006 OLG B25
Picture of little bull calf OLG B25 born 20/11/06, sire OLG Y25 Glenmore Visa [Pole] Dam OLG W17. This little calf was able to hitch a ride in the farm ute just after he was born, you can see that he was quite comfortable & enjoyed the ride.
Glenmore has had a good year,we have 94 head grazing on the creek flats that make up the bulk of our cleared cattle country. In 2005 year we had 23 calves born 2006 increased to 35. The 2005 year saw 15 heifers, 8 bulls born, the 2006 21 heifers, 14 bulls.
We have four sires: V93, OLG Y037, VRE Y25 & OLG YA4.
In the years above, 2006 & 2007, V93 & YO37 were the only sires working
We have been retaining our own produced heifers and we also purchased 4 from Ruth Edwards of Palinga. The bulk of our purchased cow came from the Lewis stud Travistock, heifers from Palinga & Ashwood, Glenmore cattle were from the foundation herd which was inspected under the Generation A classification.
Our steers are sold to the Slater Bros of Kundabung NSW, these are grown out for sale to butchers or Timbertown. We have sold a few bulls in the 2006 year as well.
All cattle are grass fed, pastures are being developed to produce high quality cattle from this lower cost food source.
The farm is changing as well; new sheds, crushes, scales, equipment & tools. Our capital investment has increased substantially in recent years, our farm has been in the family for 100 years this year, each generation doing their best to improve productivity & profitability. Our contribution has been off-farm produced capital for utilisation within the farm, also involvement in the Devon Society's management & its supported programs such as Breedplan, Southern Beef Technology Services & Internet Solutions.
It is rewarding personally for us to be part of the Devon family & we look forward to the future with a degree of enthusiasm.

5 August 2006 2006 KEMPSEY BULL SALE
The 2006 Kempsey Bull Sale had a good crowd in attendance. Ian Argue of selling agents Kempsey Stock & Land would have been satisfied with the potential buyers present.
Forty eight bulls were listed for sale, of these seven were Devons.
Four from Vic Edwards of Vix Stock Breeding & three from Gowan Ross Devons.
Three bulls sold, four were passed in, the Walkers of Kempsey, Albert Woodlands of Wauchope & our stud O'Leary's Glenmore Farm were the purchasers.
O'Leary's Glenmore Farm purchased Palinga Yolander Y25, this bull was sired by Palinga Basault R135, his Dam was Palinga Brassy K54, his EBV's were good.
Yolander was put to work in the spring & we at the stud are looking forward to the results. We have had great results from our main sire Palinga Paua [Kev] & the new bull will add more strength to calf quality & their traits.
